Layrd Design specialise in commercial interior design, offering bold, character-driven design packages and fit-out works nationwide. We work closely and collaboratively with you, as well as with our expert contractors and suppliers, to offer a design and build service which meets all of your needs. We run our projects from start to finish, liaising directly with onsite teams to ensure the project runs to schedule and to the highest level of detail.
We're a team of experienced and creative interior designers, with specialisms in workplace, gym and leisure, hospitality and retail design.
We work with you to create exciting new spaces with a focus on sustainability, inclusivity and wellbeing.
MEET THE TEAM
Will Mayes
Will is the Founder and Director of Layrd Design. He has 10 years in the creative industry and started Layrd in 2019 with the vision of building a creative and engaging interior design studio.
Will has been nominated for various awards and won Silver for Young Businessperson of the Year in the Cambridge SME Awards in 2022.
CEO & FOUNDER
Emily Gray
Emily thrives in collaborative environments, always going the extra mile to support the team. Her passion for organisation, well-being and team culture ensures a positive, welcoming and productive atmosphere in the Layrd studio.
When she's not managing the studio and planning events, Emily can be found whipping up eco-friendly soy wax candles and home fragrance gifts in her kitchen – fuelling her passion through her sensory Etsy business.

Eleanor Penny
Eleanor is passionate about bringing sustainability and wellness into every aspect of design, with a keen eye for the finer details. She is enthusiastic about understanding each client’s unique vision and bringing this to life. As our workplace specialist, Eleanor understands the bespoke needs of both the employer and the employees in creating a workplace that caters for everyone.
Outside of the design world, Eleanor’s favourite activities include finding new vegan food spots and petting any dog she can find.

Gina Clarke
Gina aspires to fuel healthier people through healthier spaces, creating innovative fitness spaces that inspire and motivate. She believes that good design can change the world and keeps community, wellbeing and sustainability at the heart of her design ethos.
Wellness-minded in both design and lifestyle, in her free time she enjoys yoga, hiking and outdoor adventures.

Emily Batten
Our Stadia Designer, Emily, is passionate about innovative, character-driven design that improves the user experience. She ensures stadia designs are bespoke and considered for each club and fanbase, maintaining close communication and relationships to ensure a key turn solution is always met.
Outside of office hours, Emily can be found exploring new restaurants and pubs or taking her dog on long walks on the beach.

Eleanor Whitwell
Eleanor loves being in the studio, working alongside the team to bring Layrd's creative vision to life. Whether she's crafting content for the website or working on our social media channels, you'll probably find Eleanor following the designers around with her phone or frantically making notes.
When she's not at the studio, Eleanor fuels her creativity by spending time outdoors, reading and playing on her Nintendo Switch. She also loves a good charity shop and prioritises buying second-hand.

Sam Alldus
Sam is passionate about biophilic and sustainable design, having focused on the positive impact of garden cities during his Interior Architecture degree. He believes that form should follow function, prioritising efficiency to make the most of a design.
Outside of work, Sam can be found catching Pokémon on long walks, reading and building impressive LEGO sets.
