The Ipswich Town Football Club hospitality reception was completed in August of 2024 as part of a multi-project summer development in collaboration with GS Contracts to elevate the club’s offerings to a Premier League standard.
The club’s new hospitality reception is a bespoke shipping container unit, fully fitted out with the Ipswich Town branding to welcome hospitality and corporate guests. Layrd transformed a temporary marquee setup into a purpose-built welcome space that allows club guests to meet the hosts and collect tickets. This premium first touchpoint sets the correct tone for the entire hospitality experience.

Natural daylight floods the unit through a custom roof light, with modern, sleek track lighting and thoughtfully selected materials that create an immediate yet industrial impression of quality and sophistication. The scheme combines dark grey and neutral walls with a ply ceiling and Tarkett concrete LVT flooring, which creates a contemporary feeling that aligns with the club's aspirations.
A carefully planned one-way system ensures smooth matchday flow, while DDA-compliant ramps seamlessly bring accessibility into the design. At 7x3.5m, the portable space has a hospitable check-in desk to comfortable waiting areas, with an efficient yet inviting environment for all visitors.
“Working with Layrd has been a fantastic experience for our club. Emily approached each project with creativity, professionalism and a deep understanding of our brand and vision. From the initial consultation to the final installation, Layrd demonstrated an unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional results that exceeded our expectations.
Most importantly, Layrd's people-focused approach and adaptability made them a true collaborator throughout the process. They listened closely to our needs, provided innovative solutions, and ensured smooth project delivery.”

The project prioritised sustainability through the use of local contractors, reducing transportation emissions across the project.
PROJECT TEAM
“How this space looked and felt from the outside was just as it looked and felt from the inside. This new container was installed to give those using the club’s hospitality offerings that first, vital positive impression.
This container is also positioned at the front of the club, meaning it was vital that it was in keeping with the club’s surroundings. We also wanted this space to provide insight into what those using hospitality can expect throughout the rest of their experience.”
