The monthly roundup from the studio...

Escape The Desk
Our latest concept, Escape the Desk, explores how to optimise office layouts to create diverse zones that cater to different work styles and foster meaningful collaboration. With digital connectivity becoming the norm in recent years, companies are increasingly challenged to create environments that bring teams together, encourage collaboration, and maintain a positive work culture.
Imagine a softer, more adaptable environment where employees feel a stronger sense of belonging and connection to their workplace.

The Future of Leisure Centres
Leisure centres have long played a vital role for communities. As users are placing an increasing emphasis on health, well-being, and social connection, these spaces have the unique opportunity to transform and meet a broader range of needs. Read the full post on our blog.
Award Nominations
In March, we received two exciting new nominations for the Cambridgeshire SME Awards. Layrd is a finalist in the Business of the Year (less than 50 employees) category. CEO and Founder Will Mayes has also been shortlisted for Business Leader of the Year. We're thrilled to be recognised for our bold, collaborative, and engaging approach to business operations. You can read more on our approach, here.

Future Spaces Tickets are Live
You can now purchase tickets for our 2025 Future Spaces event. Join us on the 1st - 2nd of October for a new two-day installation at Jesus College, University of Cambridge. We've got an exciting lineup of talks in the making and have already announced Actiu, Interface, Vectorworks, WaterRower, Revelare, Liquidline, CIM and The Good Plant Company as 2025 sponsors showcasing their latest innovations.
Beyond The Studio
Last month, we took our learning outside the studio, heading to Clerkenwell for a showroom day to explore the latest products from some of our favourite suppliers. It's always inspiring to see new products and materials, and these visits are an excellent way for the team to stay at the forefront of design. We also got hands-on at a rug-tufting workshop with Shaw Contract, experimenting with different techniques and colours to create our own designs.
